Trying again?

Maybe I will try this again.

Life has been busy in our house.  We celebrated the birth of our newest baby in January - our first daughter! - so now we have 4 boys, a girl, 1 dog, 2 cats and some mice in the basement.

Our family is both complete and completely hectic!

We are busy with work and the kids and endless house projects that we have yet to start, let alone finish....

DJ and I have been getting back into longer distance running shape and I have been having fun reading "running" blogs in my free time and dreaming about half marathon PRs.

Langston's Words

Since Langston really started to talk, I've been keeping a list of his words and phrases. Every day he amazes me with new words and phrases and things he is doing. Yesterday for the first time he fed me a pretend food from a box. He opened the box and I said, is that a cookie box? And he pretended to pick up a cookie from the box and fed it to me, saying "Cookie, MMMM!"

He's also started string words together in an adorable way. I especially love when he is tired of whatever we are doing to him, and he says, "All done, me!" or "All done, Baby!"

He asks for "More" with the sign for more (two hands brought together with fingers touching) if he wants more and will sometimes ask for more of something ("More Gah Gog" aka hot dog). We are loving hearing him express himself more and more.

Weekend Visit

We had a wonderful visit with Josh and Peggy and their boys (plus their au pair Renata and dog Mikki) this weekend. It was great to see them as we hadn't all been together since July! Obviously a lot has changed since then....

The kids played a lot and had a ton of fun. Jaden and Nicholas were great playmates and Gregory and Langston are starting to get the hang of playing together.

Friday

We prepared Thursday night to start off Friday with matching PJs for the boys.... They are all so handsome!

Friday is my day off with the babies. I really look forward to it, especially now that Dustin is more than a tiny newborn and Langston is such a little boy, too. Today Dustin took a 2.5 hour morning nap, so Lang and I got some great playtime just the two of us.

Dustin has been doing well on his belly and can rotate/spin but isn't into the rolling yet. He rolls front to back when he wants to and is SO close to rolling back to front but not quite yet... He is very happy on his belly though, especially when he has friends to hang out with!

Tonight Josh and his family arrived - we are all so excited to see them this weekend and introduce Dustin!

Last Synagis Shots

Today we went for what we hope is Lang's last Synagis shots ever. This was his 5th of the season (which is how many insurance covers) and apparently RSV is not as bad now anyway. Langston will be happy because he has developed a real fear of doctors' offices between shots, multiple blood draws, and allergy prick testing in the last 3 weeks. Poor kid started screaming as soon as we entered the hallway to the exam room. Luckily Mommy bought him a new toy camera as a bribery gift...
He was almost 20lb 10oz today which is a 4oz gain in 4 weeks. That's not ideal catch-up growth but it's definitely better than the past few months so we'll take it!

I've always wanted a blog

Well maybe not "always" but I love to write and I love reading blogs, so I decided it was finally time to start one for our family. I want to record what we are doing and have a place to post pictures and keep in touch!
